LATEST NEWS

Follow the link below to view the latest work produced by some of our S1 pupils. This was part of a June cross-curricular project between English and Art entitled Dyce scenes.

Last week our S1s were visited by author Jonathan Meres.  He visited the school in order to speak to pupils about first chapters.

This week the department was visited by a team of graphic novelists called Metaphrog.  Our S1s were introduced to the novelists John Chalmers and Sandra Marrs as part of the department’s book marketing project which will begin on May 31st.  Pupils heard how the two novelists began their writing career and were introduced to a number of creative marketing ideas the team used throughout their journey.

THE DEPARTMENT

Members of the department strive to introduce pupils to texts of a lively, demanding and interesting nature. Language skills are continually developed so that pupils can express themselves clearly and effectively. Imaginative, creative and expressive potential is fostered in writing, reading, talking and listening.
